Edenton Ice Company – Circa 1896

The Conger Building – Circa 2017

Everything Old
Is New Again

When visionaries set eyes on the historical harbor front building in 2017, it was vacant and whitewashed – a blank canvas for ideas and inspiration.

Originally constructed in the 1800s, the building served as an ice house for the Albemarle Sound and Chowan River herring fishing industry. In more recent times, the Conger Building housed the Edenton Police headquarters. Today, The Herringbone is a top dining destination for locals and visitors – and another reason to love Edenton.
